Residents rescued from fire in Suffolk flats


Residents have been rescued from a fire which broke out in flats in a Suffolk town.

Emergency services were called to the fire above a hairdressers in Cross Street, Bungay, at 0300 BST on Saturday.

The fire quickly spread to adjoining flats and residents from nearby properties were evacuated.

Firefighters removed parts of the roof to tackle the fire, which was put out by 0525 BST.

An investigation was under way, a fire service spokesman said.
