Armed robbers steal cash from Lavenham Co-op

Published

Masked raiders have escaped with money from a till after threatening staff at a supermarket in Suffolk with knives.

Two men in hooded tops with scarves covering their faces went into the Co-op store on the High Street, Lavenham, just after 2130 BST on Monday.

The men, carrying kitchen knives, threatened two members of staff before making off with the till drawer.

Police said the raiders left in the direction of Bury St Edmunds in a red Vauxhall Astra.

The men are described as white, in their late teens or early 20s.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who visited the store in the latter part of the evening, and anyone who may find the abandoned till drawer.
