Boy struck by lightning at Lowestoft air show

A 13-year-old boy has been struck by lightning at the air festival in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

It happened at 1313 BST on the second day of the two-day air show.

He was treated by the St John Ambulance Suffolk team and taken to James Paget Hospital with a burn to the shoulder. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Jason Gillingham, county ambulance officer, said: "It was a minor burn to the boy's shoulder but he was conveyed to hospital and is recovering well."
