Fatal substation raid men from Ipswich jailed

Two men who pleaded guilty to a burglary at an electricity substation, during which a man was electrocuted, have been jailed for 16 months each.

Jonathan Ehlert, 30, from Ipswich, died during the break-in at the substation in Ransomes Way, Ipswich, on 14 April.

Frank Day, 27, of Hawke Road and Adam Head, 30, of Fletcher Road, both in Ipswich, admitted two counts each of burglary with intent to steal.

They were sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court, a court spokeswoman confirmed.
