Repair work starts on Suffolk sea defence

Maintenance work is starting on more than 1.24 miles (2km) of sea wall in Suffolk.

The Environment Agency is carrying out the work at Martlesham Creek.

Tree and shrub roots, which can create fractures and weaken the wall, will be removed.

Once completed, the agency said it would be able to better assess the condition of the banks to see if further work is needed.
