Fighter plane's nose cone stolen in Suffolk

The silver nose cone from a former fighter plane kept at a Suffolk airfield has been stolen.

The plane was awaiting a refit at the former RAF Bentwaters site in Rendlesham, near Woodbridge, before being shipped to a private buyer.

Offenders stole the metre-long nose cone while the plane was on the disused runway between Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 25 August.

A police spokeswoman said it would be "of minimal value as scrap".
