Investigation as man dies in flat fire in Mildenhall

A man has died after a fire broke out in a flat in Suffolk in the early hours.

Fire crews were called to Mill Park Gardens, Mildenhall at about 0345 BST to find the premises alight.

A man was rescued from the property by firefighters, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and a fire and police investigation is being carried out. Police have appealed for witnesses.
