A prisoner who walked out of a jail in Suffolk by using another inmate's name is still on the run more than four months later, police said.

James Whitlock, 25, left Edmunds Hill in Stradishall on 14 June after applying for a licence for temporary release using the man's name.

He was serving a 33-month sentence for theft and is about 5ft 10in (1.78m), slim with light brown hair.

He has connections in Essex and Berkshire.

A police spokesman said: "As well as all parts of Suffolk, he has connections to Dagenham, Chingford and Waltham Forest in east London; Maidenhead in Berkshire and the Clacton and Dunmow areas in Essex, so we would ask people living and working in these areas to look out for him and contact us immediately."
