No action by Suffolk police after PO armed raids arrest

A man arrested by police investigating four armed raids on a Suffolk village post office will face no further action, police have said.

The post office on The Street in Capel St Mary, near Ipswich, has been robbed three times and subject to an attempted robbery once, since December 2008.

Two of the armed raids took place in the space of a week earlier in the year.

The 44-year-old man from Ipswich has been released from bail without charge.

He has however been charged with possession of a CS gas canister, an electric stun gun and a knuckleduster and will appear before South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court on 8 December 2010.
