Inmate absconds from open prison in Suffolk

An inmate at an open prison in Suffolk has absconded, police have revealed.

Wayne Ward, 41, who was serving 42 months for house burglary, left Hollesley Bay between 2300 GMT on Saturday and 0800 GMT on Sunday.

He is described as white, 5ft 11ins (1.8m) tall, of slight build, with blue eyes and short cropped brown hair. He has a two-inch scar on his left wrist.

Police said he has connections to the Southend area of Essex and should not be approached.

Anyone with information has been asked to call Suffolk Police.
