Police investigating a report by a 14-year-old girl that she was raped in Suffolk in late June or early July have dropped the case.

The attack was said to have taken place in Greenfields Way in Haverhill.

A thorough investigation has been carried out and it has been determined that no crime took place, a police spokeswoman said.

No action is to be taken against the girl and officers thanked the people that helped, the spokeswoman said.
