Sweet treats handed out to town clubbers

Clubbers are to receive an extra Christmas present in a bid to keep them safe on a night out in two Suffolk towns.

Goodie bags containing a bottle of water, lollipops, space blankets and safety information will be handed out in Sudbury and Felixstowe.

The bags will be given out as people leave clubs.

Organisers hope the scheme will also help door staff engage with people, reducing noise and disorder.

Peter Avery, from the Sudbury town pastors, said: "These goodie bags are an excellent way of encouraging people to stay safe this Christmas.

"We often deal with people who are not able to get home safely so anything that promotes responsibly drinking is a very good thing indeed."
