Man arrested over fire at flats in Lowestoft

A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at a block of flats in Suffolk.

More than 40 firefighters were called to the High Street in Lowestoft shortly before 0300 GMT on Friday.

One flat was extensively damaged and two others sustained smoke damage before the fire was extinguished about an hour later, police said.

No one was injured. The man is in police custody and is due to be questioned by officers.
