Suffolk fatal crash manslaughter charge

A man has been charged with manslaughter after a road crash in Suffolk in which a woman died.

Laureen Hammond, 20, from Sutton near Woodbridge, died when her Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with two cars on the B1083 at Bromeswell on Thursday.

Luke Burdakay, 19, of Birkfield Drive, Ipswich, will appear before South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with manslaughter.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said he had been remanded in custody.

He was also charged with aggravated vehicle taking without consent causing death, causing death while driving uninsured and attempted robbery on 29 January at the Trawlers Catch Fish Shop, High Street, Saxmundham.

Suffolk Police said it had referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) because there was police involvement in the accident.
