IPCC refers fatal crash case to Suffolk force

The Independent Complaints Commission (IPCC) has referred the case of a fatal collision in Suffolk back to the local police force.

Laureen Hammond, 20, from Sutton near Woodbridge, died in a collision on the B1083 at Bromeswell 3 February.

Luke Burdakay, 19, of Birkfield Drive, Ipswich, is charged with manslaughter in connection with the incident

The IPCC said it had examined the case before referring it back to the local force to investigate.

Mr Burdakay was also charged with aggravated vehicle taking without consent causing death, causing death while driving uninsured and attempted robbery on 29 January at the Trawlers Catch Fish Shop, High Street, Saxmundham.

He will appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 17 February.
