Boy sentenced over Suffolk school arson

A 15-year-old boy has been sentenced to a 12-month referral order after he admitted arson at a school in Suffolk.

The fire broke out at Thurston Community College near Bury St Edmunds in January and caused substantial damage.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced at Bury St Edmunds youth court.

The order means he will have to attend a youth offender panel with the aim of addressing the causes of his behaviour.
