A 60-year-old woman who was found dead at a lake in Suffolk has been named by police.

The body of Ruth Jacobs, from Ipswich, was found in the lake near Coddenham Road, Needham Market, on Sunday.

Cordons set up by police at the lake have now been lifted. A post- mortem examination has shown Mrs Jacobs died as a result of drowning.

Her family and the coroner have been informed and an inquest will be opened in due course, police said.

A 58-year-old man, also from Ipswich, was later arrested on suspicion of murder 30 miles away at Wissett Lake near Halesworth.

He has since been detained under the Mental Health Act and is no longer in police custody.

Police are renewing their appeal for information as the investigation into Mrs Jacobs' death continues.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who was in the Needham Lake area between 1600 GMT on Saturday 19 and 0800 GMT on Sunday 20 February.

Police are particularly interested in activity during the early hours of Sunday morning.

They would also like to speak to anyone who was at Wissett Lake between 1600 GMT on Saturday and 1600 GMT on Sunday.
