Man arrested over Suffolk travellers' site gun deaths

A man has been arrested after two men were shot at a travellers' site in Suffolk.

The victims were found dead at Willow Park, Beck Row, near Mildenhall about 2215 GMT on Tuesday. One of the bodies was discovered in a burning car.

A 38-year-old man attended a police station on Wednesday night where he was arrested by officers on suspicion of murder.

He was due to be taken to a police station in Suffolk for questioning.

Armed officers who attended the scene of the shooting found one man dead inside a burning car and another nearby on the ground.

Homes were evacuated over fears the blaze, which spread to a caravan and trailer, could ignite gas canisters.

Earlier the Prime Minister was asked about the case in the House of Commons by Matthew Hancock, Conservative MP for West Suffolk.

David Cameron said: "I think the police will want to do everything they can to get to the bottom of this dreadful crime and to bring the perpetrators to justice."
