Man who died after a street fight in Ipswich is named

A man who died in hospital after a fight outside a pub in Ipswich has been named by police.

Simon Cowles, 20, of Star Lane in the town, suffered a head injury during the disturbance outside the Smock pub on Maidenhall Approach on Sunday.

He died in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, on Tuesday. The results of a post-mortem examination will be released pending further inquiries.

Two men, aged 35 and 44 and from Ipswich, remain on police bail.

They have to return to Ipswich police station on 19 May.
