Man arrested on suspicion of arson over Ipswich fire

A man has been arrested in connection with a fire and explosion at a restaurant in Suffolk.

The emergency services were called to the Bahar Restaurant in Norwich Road, Ipswich, in the early hours of Monday morning after reports of an explosion.

Two properties were evacuated, but no-one was injured. Some surrounding roads were closed because of debris.

A 33-year-old local man was arrested on Monday lunchtime on suspicion of arson and has been given police bail.
