Man held on suspicion of murder in Bury St Edmunds after fight

A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in a town in Suffolk.

Police were called to reports of a fight near an address in Ashwell Road, Bury St Edmunds, shortly before midnight on Monday.

They found a man collapsed at the scene. He was taken to West Suffolk Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Police have set up a cordon around the property.

The 48-year-old man from the Bury St Edmunds area was taken to the town's police station where he will be questioned by officers.
