Man charged after stabbing death in Bury St Edmunds

A man has been charged with murder after a 42-year-old man was stabbed to death in Suffolk.

Robin Lionnet, of Ashwell Road in Bury St Edmunds, died of a stab wound after he was found collapsed in the early hours of Tuesday.

Mark Turner, 48, from Green Lane, Cockfield, has been charged with his murder.

Mr Turner is in police custody and will appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Mr Lionnet died at West Suffolk Hospital in the town after he was found collapsed in Ashwell Road.

A post-mortem examination showed he died as a result of a stab wound, a spokeswoman for Suffolk police said.

A cordon remains in place at Ashwell Road while officers continue their investigation.
