Fire crews called to flooding in Leiston and Aldeburgh

Fire crews have been pumping out water from flooded basements following heavy rain in two Suffolk coastal towns.

Numerous calls were received to Leiston and Aldeburgh on Sunday afternoon, Suffolk Fire Service said.

Firefighters were sent to Market Cross Place, Aldeburgh, and have since returned to their stations.

Two crews who helped clear a basement in Main Street, Leiston, remained on site at 17:35 BST for "standby reasons".
