Lowestoft 999 call police car hits bungalow

A police officer responding to a 999 call has been treated for shock after her car hit and damaged a bungalow in Suffolk.

The woman was the only occupant in the marked car, which crashed in Normanston Drive, Lowestoft, shortly before 05:00 BST.

Police said she was physically unhurt but taken to the James Paget Hospital.

No other vehicles were involved. The bungalow was empty but the occupant is aware.

A structural engineer is due to assess the damage, police added.
