A 50-year-old man has been jailed for three years after being found guilty of arranging to sexually abuse a child.

Kelvin Sadler, of Oaklee in Ipswich, also admitted making indecent photographs of children and possessing extreme pornographic images.

He was given a 12-month concurrent jail sentence at Ipswich Crown Court for taking and possessing the images.

Suffolk Police said Sadler had asked someone in Yorkshire via text message to arrange access to children.

A computer, phone and camera were seized from Sadler's property, police said.

Speaking after the sentencing, temporary Det Ch Insp Bernie Morgan said: "This is a disturbing case where a conversation by text message has descended into the obscene and extreme.

"Whilst no child became a victim as a result of his text conversation, sadly those children in the images he held had already been exploited."

Sadler has also been placed on the sex offenders' register.
