Hundreds of people lined the streets of Bury St Edmunds to show their support for soldiers returning from a 10-month tour of Afghanistan and Cyprus.

Members of the 1st Royal Tank Regiment from RAF Honington attended a thanksgiving service at St Edmundsbury Cathedral.

They were then presented with service medals on Angel Hill by the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, Lord Tollemache.

Capt Alex Holloway said it was an "absolutely fantastic" occasion.
