Ipswich bus head injury: man charged after pensioner's fall

A man has been charged after a 67-year-old man was knocked out while getting off a bus in Suffolk.

The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being pushed and falling on the bus at Defoe Road, Ipswich in December.

The man is no longer critical, but he has been receiving treatment at a rehabilitation centre, police said.

Derek Thomson, 26, of Riverside Road, Ipswich is charged with GBH without intent and is due in court in April.

The Ipswich Buses number 10 service was at a stop at Defoe Road's junction with Macauley Road at about 18:05 GMT on Thursday, 13 December.

The accused is due before magistrates in Ipswich on 8 April.
