Ipswich man, 89, mugged twice in three days

An 89-year-old man who uses a walking frame has been mugged twice in three days in Ipswich.

In the first robbery on Wingfield Street on Thursday lunchtime, money was taken from the victim's pockets.

On Saturday, the man was walking along Foundation Street when he was pushed in the chest and had money taken from a shirt pocket, Suffolk Police said.

The suspect on Saturday is described as white, aged 18-20, about 5ft 10in tall and with short, light-coloured hair.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: "These have been nasty incidents on a vulnerable member of the public and officers are continuing to make inquiries to trace those involved.

"The man was uninjured but has been left shaken by what has happened."
