Sudbury woman charged over stabbing

A woman has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following a stabbing in Suffolk on Thursday evening.

A 43-year-old woman suffered a number of stab wounds to her upper body in the attack in Sudbury and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called and arrested a 46-year-old woman from Sudbury who was charged over the attack.

She is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court later.

She was also charged with producing cannabis after a plant was found during searches of her home.
