A woman who drove the wrong way along the A14 in Suffolk while three times over the legal alcohol limit has been jailed for six months.

Tracey Matthews, 48, of Cotman Road, Ipswich, admitted dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.

She drove eastwards for up to four miles on the westbound carriageway near Ipswich in July.

Matthews was also disqualified from driving for four years during sentencing at Ipswich Crown Court.

She will have to take an extended driving test before she is allowed back on the road.

Suffolk Police said she was stopped by officers near the Copdock interchange at about 23:30 BST on Sunday, 6 July.

No-one was injured as a result of her driving.
