A 47-year-old man from Epsom, who was known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

He is being questioned in police custody.

A Surrey Police spokeswoman said the victim was with three others on Saturday evening walking along Horton footpath when she was involved in an altercation.

She said said the victim spent the rest of the evening in Court Recreation Ground, near to the children's play area.
