Surrey gardener robbed of wheelbarrow

A woman was pushed to the ground before being robbed of her wheelbarrow in her own front garden in Surrey.

The 61-year-old was attacked by another woman while tending her garden in the Pyrford area of Woking at about 1400 BST on Thursday.

The woman, who is described as thin with long blonde hair, put the wheelbarrow into a Ford Transit van.

Police are linking the robbery to the theft of two metal ramps from a school about 15 minutes earlier.

Dented van

A white high-top Transit van, dented on the near side, was seen entering the school grounds in Old Woking Road at about 1345 BST. Two 3m (10ft) metal ramps were stolen.

The woman who took the wheelbarrow is described as 25 to 30 years old and was wearing jogging bottoms, a black jumper and long riding boots.

Her victim was not injured.

The driver of the van is described as white and the vehicle had a silver band around it.
