Man charged over Surrey teenage footballer crash death


A man has been charged over a fatal crash in Surrey which killed an aspiring teenage footballer.

Thomas Difelice, 17, from Woodham, was a front-seat passenger in a Mini that came off the road and hit a wall in Broadmead Road, Send, on 15 December.

In 2008 he spent three months with the Woking Football Club Youth Academy.

Luca Bertolone, 18, of Woodham Waye, Woking, has been charged with causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

He is due to appear at Woking Magistrates' Court on 19 August.

Two other 17-year-old boys were also injured in the accident last year.
