Cyclist dies after lorry accident in Staines

A cyclist has died following a collision with a lorry in Surrey.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, collided with the heavy goods vehicle on the A308 Kingston Road, Staines, shortly before 0600 BST.

The accident happened near the roundabout at the junction with Fordbridge Road. The cyclist was taken to St Peter's Hospital where he died.

The westbound carriageway between the roundabout and Ashford Road was closed for a time but has since reopened.
