Woman dies in two-car collision in Dorking

A woman died and two other people were injured in a road accident in Surrey, police have said.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened on the A24 London Road in Dorking on Friday.

The incident, involving a Mini Cooper and a Vauxhall Astra, happened just before 1820 BST on the Mickleham Bypass, close to Burford Bridge.

The 24-year-old driver of the Mini was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for six hours.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 50s, and his passenger, a woman in her 30s, were taken to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill with minor injuries.
