Woman in court charged with murdering Surrey widower

A 53-year-old woman has been remanded in custody over the murder of an 82-year-old widower from Surrey.

Ann Browning appeared at Guildford Magistrates' Court earlier charged with murdering Bill Williamson, who has been missing since 10 September.

Ms Browning, of Miltons Crescent, Ockford Ridge, Godalming, will appear at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday.

She is accused of killing him between 9 September and 6 October. A body was found in Miltons Crescent on Friday.

It has not yet been formally identified and a post-mortem examination carried out on Friday was inconclusive.

Ms Browning is accused of killing Mr Williamson between 9 September and 6 October.

A 30-year-old man also arrested in connection with the investigation has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Williamson used to live in Church Road, Milford, near Godalming, but moved to Ockford Ridge in early September after selling his own home.
