Motorists are putting people's lives at risk by parking illegally, the county's emergency services have said.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said they were often obstructed by illegally parked cars, particularly outside schools.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECamb) said the delays could mean "the difference between life and death".

They have joined Surrey County Council in promoting the Park SMART campaign.

SECamb's Lorna Stewart said: "We would ask motorists to think very carefully about where they park their vehicles even if it is just for a few moments."
