Woman dies after reports of stabbing in Ashtead

A woman in her 30s has been pronounced dead at an address in Surrey after emergency services were called following reports of a stabbing.

Surrey Police said officers were called to Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, shortly before 1400 GMT on Wednesday.

An injured woman found at the address was pronounced dead at 1430 GMT.

A 33-year-old man, who was also injured, was arrested and taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable.
