Police have renewed pleas for help to find an 87-year-old man who has been missing for a week.

Eric Burley, from Ewhurst, in Surrey, failed to return home after attending an appointment at Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford on 30 November.

Police have been unable to trace Mr Burley or his red Nissan Primera.

Det Insp Adam Colwood said: "We are extremely concerned for his welfare, particularly with the adverse weather conditions we have been experiencing."

Car hunt

Mr Burley is described as being nearly 6ft tall with grey hair and beard.

Police want the public to help them find his car - registration number N481 HKX - by focusing on vehicles parked at the side of the road.

Mr Burley was wearing a black bomber-style jacket with a white pattern, navy blue trousers and black and tan deck shoes on the day of his disappearance.

He was last seen by a hospital porter getting into his car after his appointment at 1500 GMT.

Mr Colwood added: "Any information which could help us establish the whereabouts of his car would be welcomed.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen him, or who has any information about his whereabouts to contact Surrey Police urgently."
