Taxi passenger attacked with bottle in East Molesey

A man has suffered serious facial injuries after a bottle was smashed over his head in a taxi in Surrey.

Surrey Police said the serious assault took place outside Hampton Court railway station in East Molesey in the early hours of Sunday.

The victim, who was in 40s, had been in the taxi with three friends who got out in Teddington, south London.

Three men asked to share the taxi and got in at Teddington. They attacked him later after a dispute about the fare.

Officers said the victim was taken to Kingston Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries after the attack, which happened while the taxi was on the station concourse between 0130 GMT and 0200 GMT.
