Esher man charged over violent crimes

A man who was named on a website which lists Surrey Police's most wanted suspects has been charged with a number of violent crimes.

Surrey Police said the man from Esher was detained after they received information from the public.

He has been charged with a number of offences including two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

The man is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Surrey Police said another man who was featured on the site in connection with a separate incident had come forward and been released on bail.

The Surrey Most Wanted site, set up by police and Crimestoppers, was first published on 6 December.

The public can look at pictures and e-fits and view CCTV footage of people currently wanted across the county.
