Tortoises stolen from outbuilding in Merstham


Seven tortoises worth an estimated £3,000 have been stolen from a property in Surrey.

Police said the animals were taken from outbuildings at the back of a house in Rockshaw Road, Merstham, sometime between 14 and 16 December.

Pc Hannah Vincent, of Surrey Police, said the the owner was concerned for their welfare.

She said the animals were targeted because they have "a very high resale value".
