Thieves steal luxury cars from outside Surrey homes

Thieves have stolen luxury cars worth a total of £75,000 during a spate of burglaries in west Surrey.

A £50,000 Mercedes 350 4x4 was stolen from the drive of a property in Windlesham on Monday after the keys were taken from inside the house.

Surrey Police said thieves took a BMW worth about £25,000 from outside house in Chilworth in similar circumstances on Thursday.

The force has urged residents to make sure they shut their doors and windows.

Pc Steve Cake said: "Burglars don't like locked windows because breaking glass attracts attention.

"Whilst it is not possible to put everything out of sight I would definitely urge people to take jewellery, car keys, bags and small electrical items upstairs overnight.

"Similarly any high value or sentimental items should be locked away securely."
