Ashtead solicitor pleads not guilty to wife murder

A 33-year-old solicitor from Surrey has pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife who died from a stab wound.

Richard Davies Jones, of Woodfield Lane, Lower Ashtead, denied the charge at Guildford Crown Court.

Police found the body of social worker Laura Davies Jones after they were called to an address in Woodfield Lane on 1 December last year.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination found she died from a stab wound to her throat.

Mr Davies Jones was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on 11 July.
