The Royal Surrey County Hospital has launched an appeal to raise £10m over the next three years for new equipment.
The hospital in Guldford, which is celebrating its 30th birthday this week, is seeking to raise money for new cancer and general hospital equipment.
It also hopes to invest in a new radiotherapy treatment for brain tumours that are currently inoperable.
A number of events are planned as part of the appeal, including treks, marathons and walks.
The appeal has been launched under the slogan of "We'll get there together".
Peter Dunt, chairman of the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said the NHS was facing challenging times and the trust was no exception.
"We are hoping that local people, patients and their families get behind the Royal Surrey and support our appeal to help raise money towards these exciting new projects and vital pieces of medical equipment."
