Surrey police investigate Smallfield sex attack

A woman was pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted in a children's playground in Surrey, police have said.

Officers said the 26-year-old was attacked in Plough Road in Smallfield between 0330 and 0415 GMT on Sunday.

Detectives said the attacker ran away in the direction of Horne when he was disturbed by a passer-by.

Det Sgt Anne Simpson, of Surrey Police, said: "This incident has left the victim traumatised and it is obviously of great concern to us."

"We know that someone disturbed the suspect and it is vital we identify this person as they could be a key witness," she said.
