Five arrested in Surrey over drugs and weapons offences

Five people have been arrested by police in Surrey on suspicion of drugs and weapons offences.

They were held after about 200 officers took part in early morning raids at nine properties in Egham, Lyne, Ottershaw, Chertsey and Shepperton.

Operation Oxygen was aimed at tackling a "sophisticated organised crime group" believed to be involved in the supply of class A drugs and money laundering.

A large amount of cash and prohibited weapons was seized by police.

Surrey Police said the operation was mounted after it received intelligence suggesting that a number of people from Runnymede were supplying class A drugs from various addresses across the borough.
