Elderly woman hit by coach on A25 at Oxted

A pedestrian in her 80s is in hospital with head and chest injuries after being hit by a coach in Surrey.

The accident, involving a single decker coach travelling east, happened on the A25 at East Hill, Oxted, just after 1600 GMT on Thursday.

The woman was taken by ambulance to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London. No-one on the coach was hurt.

The A25 was closed both ways while Surrey Police carried out inquiries. They are appealing for witnesses.
