Horley bookmaker's workers robbed by knifeman

Two employees have been forced to hand over money in a knifepoint robbery at a bookmaker's shop in Surrey.

The robber, armed with a kitchen knife, forced the two women back into the Coral shop in Brighton Road, Horley, as they closed up at 2130 GMT on Thursday.

The staff handed over the cash to the balaclava-clad robber, who ran off. The employees were not injured.

"Both women are still very shaken by this ordeal and it is vital we identify the man," said Det Con Kerry Akehurst.

"A number of witnesses have already been spoken to and we are following up forensic clues left at the scene.

"However, I am particularly keen to trace three men who were in the bookies prior to the robbery as they may, unwittingly, have valuable information."
