Thieves steal Crimean War heirloom from Surrey home

Thieves stole a 19th Century family heirloom and other items of "huge sentimental value" during a burglary at a house in Surrey.

A Crimean War medal that had been handed down to the 72-year-old resident was taken from his house on Tuesday.

An RAF medal, the former airman's service record and a christening gown were also taken during the burglary in Newdigate, near Dorking.

Surrey Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
